Call for Entries
Juried Online Exhibit – December 2020
For many years, State of the Art Gallery has been proud to host a juried exhibit of work by regional artists during the month of December. But due to the Covid19 pandemic, we have decided to forego the in gallery exhibit and opt for an online only version this year and to open the show eligibility to all artists living in the USA. Entries are now being accepted! The deadline is October 15, 2020. Winning art will be prominently featured on State of the Art Gallery website along with information about the winning artists and links to their websites and social media pages.
Due to the online only nature of the show, the entry fee has been reduced this year to $25.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
•All artistic media, both 2-D & 3-D, will be considered, except photography*. Each entrant may submit up to three (3) works.
•All entries must be original art that has never been exhibited at our gallery. Current members of State of the Art and their family members are not eligible.
•The Entry Fee of $25.00 covers three entries per artist. This fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee that your work will be accepted into the show. Due to Covid19, this year’s show will be presented online only. Because of this, we have reduced our usual entry fee.
•All entrants must be over 18 years of age. All artists living in the USA are encouraged to apply.
•The Entry Fee can be paid by PayPal (See button on below. Note: a PayPal account is NOT required) or by check made out to: State of the Art Gallery, postmarked by October 15, 2020 and mailed to:

Your submission should be sent with ALL information simply typed within the body of your email reply; no pdf or special formatting, please.

Please include the following in your email:
•Contact Information: List the artist’s name, address, phone number, and e-mail address simply typed out in the body of the e-mail, no pdf or special formatting.
•Images of up to three (3) works may be submitted, as attachments to your email. For each work a complete image should be submitted, as a jpeg 1200 pixels on the long side.
•Title your files as follows: full last name_first name_image number.jpg. For example: Smith_John_01.jpg, Smith_John_02.jpg, etc.
•If desired you may also submit up to two detail images per work. Label these as, e.g. Smith_John_01_d.jpg and Smith_John_01_dd.jpg
•for 3-dimensional pieces you may submit up to three, different views of the piece. Use the same resolution etc. as for 2D pieces. Please label one image as your primary view; this will be the one included in the online show. Use the same file naming protocol as above.
•image list (filename, title, size, medium, price, for each work submitted)
SHOW DESIGN

SALES
All sales inquiries will be forwarded directly to the artist. The gallery will not take a commission.
EXHIBIT PROMOTION
State of the Art Gallery will create an on-line slide show which will be featured on the main page of our website for the month of December and then archived. The slide show will be broadly promoted on social media and in on-line newspapers, and there will be links to it on Ithaca Gallery Night website. Prize winners will be announced via social media and on our website on Gallery Night, December 4.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Submissions to the STATE OF THE ART JURIED ONLINE EXHIBIT shall imply an agreement on the part of each artist to all conditions of this prospectus. Permission for State of the Art Gallery to use images of accepted works for publicity, education, and reference purposes is assumed.

December 4th, 2020 Notification of award recipients
December 5-7, 2020 Mailing of award checks
December 31, 2020 Exhibit closes
The show will be featured on our website home page through the month of December. After that, it will be archived.
FAQ’s:
What media are eligible?
All media including digital and 3-dimensional works will be considered, except photography (which will be considered for State of the Art gallery’s Annual Photo Show in March)
What is the entry fee?

Who will constitute the jury members?
The jury will consist of 5-7 artist members of State of the Art Gallery.
Who will be the Prize Judge?
The prize judge is TBA and will be an artist or art professional from one of the region’s museums, galleries or colleges. Previous prize judges have included art professors from Cornell & Ithaca College, or staff members from Cornell’s Johnson Museum.
