Nancy Ridenour: Near and Far

July 31 – September 1, 2019

Artist photographer Nancy Ridenour welcomed visitors to view “Near and Far,” her exhibition at the gallery during August. Subjects include flowers from her spectacular Ithaca garden and abstracts from sculptures made by Cornell architectural students in 1963. As a biologist and former Ithaca High School biology teacher, Ridenour is drawn to birds of Florida and animals in zoos and the resulting photographs are part of her show. She has her camera with her at all times to capture the essence of sites and objects she encounters—places as far away at Rome, Paris and Egypt.

Margy Nelson, Margaret Reed and Stephan Phillips

Wed, Jun 5, 2019 12:00 PM Sun, Jun 30, 2019 5:00 PM

Margy Nelson has created prints and photographs to offer a bit of a different perspective on the everyday world… some real/serious, some tongue-in-cheek… which is which?

Stephan Phillips’ still life paintings demonstrate a mysterious physical world in which objects, space and light take on meta-physical dimensions.

Margaret Reed’s colorful chalk pastel drawings invite the viewers in to a world inhabited by saints and martyrs. Recurring imagery fosters the sense of an overarching narrative; a journey in progress with no end in sight.
